Working Style

I support the development of individuals, teams and organizations with passion and commitment, the use of solid, sophisticated tools, in a supportive environment. As a principle, in my trainings and coaching I only work with validated, transfer-oriented methods. I find it important to critically examine the “value-add” of any new leadership model, coaching technique or team management tool before putting it into practice. What I train has to be "beyond the obvious". Furthermore, it is my firm belief that scientific work and transfer into business life don’t have to be in contradiction with one another.

These four attributes are of particular importance to me:

  • 100% focus on applicability and transfer - orientation

  • Consequent adaptation of concepts and models to customer needs

  • Clarity and straight talk

  • Head and heart / high-level “edutainment”

Value Add

In my opinion, the best way to illustrate the value add of my services is by quoting some exemplary feedback that I received from clients and participants of recent workshops, coaching sessions and training programs.

Program manager

“Well structured, multi-skilled, with a good theoretical foundation, very responsive and appropriate to talk to our CEO on an eye-to-eye level. Thomas has got everything needed to get a high-class management program up and running.”

(Vice President Human Resources of a MNE)

Trainer

“I have already been to a lot of training events – but I don’t think I have ever received so many useful, transferable ideas within such a short period of time. I return back to my organization with a clearer view of what is currently going on in our company. For this, I have noted down an entire page of impulses that I would like to initiate in my job. I am very confident that this training will help me to be more successful in my current job.”

(Course Participant in a Change Management Training)

“I would have never thought, that 2 virtual days can pass so quickly. It was not boring for a single second!” (a future leader after a online seminar on “Strategic Leadership”)

FACILITATOR

“Of course one tends to question, if it is a good investment to pay money for a ‘bit of facilitation’. However, after these two days I can definitely say that there was a good return for the money spent. We would have never been able to do this in such an open, well-structured and sustainable manner without you.”

(Owner of a medium-sized German Company)

“The objectives of the “AI4ME sandpit”, facilitated by Thomas in July 2022, were to establish a successful team across all partners, to develop a shared vision for AI4ME, to identify the specific research and business challenges to realise the vision, and to initiate plans for implementation.

AI4ME is a 5-year collaborative research partnership between the BBC, University of Surrey and University of Lancaster with the goal of enabling personalised media experiences (news, sports, music, drama) to deliver a step-change in audience experience, engagement and accessibility of mass-media for the general public.

Thomas’ leadership in co-designing and moderating this 5-day event with over 30 participants (on location and remote), was crucial for the success of the sandpit. All partners left the Lake District inspired, full of new ideas and with a shared vision of the transformation to personalised media. Many thanks again for facilitating a highly successful sandpit and for all the materials provided!”

COACH

“In my entire career I have not met anybody with whom I was able to talk so intensively about topics that are currently important to me in my job. It is a real joy to work with you. Even if I got a ‘kick into the b...’ sometimes. That was painful, but – in hindsight – necessary.”

(Managing Director of a Company)
